goodbye 2007.

(this is so cute. my parents were actually playing with the machine! haha)

in a matter of hours, we'll say goodbye to 2007 and welcome the lovely '08!
many of us, i believe have lived 2007 well.
for me, 2007 has been a blast of events. both happy and sad.

I started year 2007 in a very interesting manner. the first time after 18 years i don't have to wear uniform to sch on 2nd jan. haha. i attended sch as a teacher. how amazing. think back, i think it was incredible and those kids must have suffer quite a bit. realised that working life is NOT easy at all and we should never take money for granted. along the way, i learnt alot and see alot of unglam reality for myself. know things are never what they seemed. get to know a couple of friends while teaching too. the awesomely cute guy, dp! haha. and the cable car cum puma watch guy, zzk! they have added lotsa stories to life. haha..

In march, many great things happened. on 2nd march 2007, i passed my driving test and became a licensed driver. on the same day, i received my 'A' level results with acceptable grades. the two biggest moments of the year! thank god it went well. in the same month, sox made our second trip to bintan! it was good. =D

July, I got myself a place in NUS. all the way to the west. kinda glad to be in fass. skip lectures as i want. mug only at the last minute. and obviously you dont expect good grades. i think that's the only mistake i made this year. played too much, too little focus on studies. well well...

Dec, end of sem 1 in nus. never thought uni life passes in a blink of an eye. went for hols in taiwan..not too great but at least i can now tell pple i've been there and pls do not go. hahaha. dec is also the month of festive seasons. many celebrations took place in clubs. oh. it is also this year that the whole lot of us started clubbing. in this same year, we got so addicted to mahjong. (or are we already addicted? hahaha)

anws, this year has been wonderful and 2008 will be better!
we're all turning 20 and i hope we're sure of our future goals and stop drifting. most of them gonna graduate and that is the start to the never-ending rat race. i hope the best for them. this transition period's not gonna be easy but..we'll have to go through it nevertheless.
oh yah. i spent 2007 singly. (if u get what i mean. hahaha)
with that, i wrapped up 2007!

at the end of year 2007, i managed to do a good deed.

apparently this old lady in her sixties was loitering at this area near tpjc.
i had an encounter with her when i sent smth to my grandma's place at the area & pick sab.
that old lady was lost.
she lost her way since 1plus in the afternoon.
when i found her, it was almost 9pm.
she claimed she stays in blk 458, tampines #12-458.
knowing that blk 458 doesnt have unit no 12-458, i told her she has gotten the wrong place.
however, she insisted that she had the correct address.
she just moved over to the east 3 days ago.
after abt 15mins of asking her whatever details we can, sab & i still cldnt locate her home.
i mean.
seriously, she must have gotten the address wrongly.
we suspected that she has some kinda illness leading to memory loss and it was proven true by herself.
fortunately, we managed to find a piece of paper in her wallet and it says, pasir ris blk 548!!
omg.
at once, i told her to get in my car & sent her home.
in the car she was telling us her sad life story and i do feel for her.
hmmm..
life's at such... lotsa ups and downs.
to prevent such thing from happening again, sab wrote down her address on a proper piece of paper & told her to bring it with her whenever she goes out.
her sis was so worried that she went to the police station before we found & sent her back.
fyi, she walked from pasir ris to tampines.
from somewhere near whitesands to somewhere near tpjc.
incredible old lady isnt she?
she gave sab & i a chance to do smth good before 2007 ends.
hahaha...

ps: regarding my previous post, i really appreciate those concerns & reassurances on my taggy. they were good morale boost. thank you. just wanna let you guys know that i'm alright la. the happy-go-lucky me is still here and nth has changed except for a better attitude towards my studies the next sem.

im back from mahjong & apparently that james won like crap.
but i refused to pay him the full sum!
he's a sucker for money totally.
HAHAHA.
but the whole game was funny!

and just before the game, sab had to mention smth so triggering again.
eh. the word 'stupid' is only a joke to a small extend.
but looking at the situation now, im not fit to handle the term 'stupid'.
at this weakest moment, what i have is not encouragement, but 'stupid'.
just imagine!
my morale simply parachuted from the highest level.
my results was a total shit and i know that by heart.
and i dont exactly feel gd abt it at all, in fact i regreted not putting in more effort.
i kept rather quiet abt my results not bcos it doesnt matter anymore.
i cant grumble cos i brought it upon myself and whining abt it makes me irritating and i believe friends wouldnt want to hear me complaining abt it if i'd seen this coming..
i'm quite stuck actually. ive no one to turn to.
afterall they're not responsible to hear me whine and all. they're all so tied up with their own tasks, by complaining to them abt my results is wrong. i didnt pay them to lend me their listening ears.
the worst part is, i was thrown tgt with the term 'stupid'. i accept 'not smart' though.
it may be a joke, but i just dont feel good. what more it was mentioned repeatedly?
it was a complete destruction of my confident.
that's why im still blogging now at 5am.
let's say if im really that dumb, pls dont tell me straight in my face.
esp if u're my close friend cos...........i cant handle my emotions well.

they have the dirtiest toilets i've ever been to so far.

it was so bad that my grandma puked after she used the toilet, my aunt & i didnt breathe while in there.

BUT, their hotels are nice & clean!

so its just their streets.

no proper pavement, no proper road, cars everywhere, motorbikes every corners, cars dont give way to pedestrians, bla bla bla....

SHOPPING.

gosh. i swear i didnt buy any clothes back!

the places where they sell cheap clothings are much worse than bugis street.

so.. when i dont even shop at bugis street, i hardly know how to dig things from those damn 'cheapo' shops.

i mean...

those shops just dont look decent enough for me to step in.

as for their shopping centres, the things they have, we have them here.

at a cheaper price as well.

so what's the reason to shop over there? (seriously, i cant find anything to buy!!)

perhaps its their winter season now, so the clothes they have are winter clothes thats why i cant buy anything.

i went to their sort of our paragon and i barely see a single soul other than those working there.

i feel gd to be back in spore.
taiwan was too overrated.
and i didnt enjoy myself as much as i expected.
there's absolutely no way i'm gg back there agin.

ive not spoken english for a long long time.

sunday is a family day; but not today.

Wonder if you guys have watched the movie, Enchanted?
If you haven’t, find a day to head down to nearest cinema and enjoy this very beautiful fairytale.
Maybe you’ve heard that movie was no good or it doesnt worth the 9.50; let me say smth.

The movie is good, and it definitely worth the 2hrs and 9.50 for a good laugh, just make sure you don’t get first 2 rows. haha!
I was surprised why some had negative remarks for the show. I thot it was nice and the idea was cool.
I’m not saying abt the storyline, but other factors that contributed to a good movie.
Since it’s a fairytale, it has to follow some sort of “procedures”.
We can never leave out ‘deeply in loved prince and girl’, ‘a third party’, ‘wicked woman and her apple’ and of cos, ’happily ever after’ in a fairytale, can we?

Many said the story hasnt got a twist. But, I’m pretty sure the twist of the story was crystal clear in the movie if you watched hard enough.The idea where fairytale in fiction can be brought to reality is a huge twist on its own!How can anyone miss that. How can anyone says the story is dumb and…whatevers.
The actress playing Giselle has skillfully and successfully portrayed a typical princess in fairytale, capturing the essence of a princess in every details. The singing, the acting bimbo and allll.. Tell me what’s more to be expected of a role like that?Hasn’t she gave enough? now you wonder.Actor playing Edward has vividly presented a royal prince in an entertaining manner.The lawyer, Robert has shown much or less the underlying true love in a normative attitude.I can’t understand what’s there not to appreciate and enjoy for that show.
To me, and perhaps many others, the show was brillantly scripted and casted.We’ve definitely not seen a show like this before. If you had, please let me know. (i’m writing this based on inadequate knowledge thou.)I hope you know that I’m not talking abt the storyline right here. Think abt the idea and the way a typical fairytale is being presented. To present smth everyone clearly knows abt in an extra-ordinary way is not easy. The director has done well.
A fairytale is a fairytale. You want a twist and that’ll be.. the prince marrys the witch. And true love’s kiss doesnt work cos poison apple is THAT deadly? That’s the twist you calling for? Then it wont be a fairytale, rather a horror-tale.And.. if that’s a brainless movie, then you just have to relax, sit through and laugh along. Rather you prefer a movie that requires hard thinking, heart-throbbing, kickass storyline that involves much killings? A good movie not necessary always involves action pact and bloody scenes.Sometimes we need happily ever after to put smile on faces and to keep dreams alive.
Oh wells.Good movies are hard to come by, but, good audiences are even harder.
ps: this post is really my own thots. i hope ive not offended anyone. maybe those who have bad impression of that movie shld re-watch it in another perspective. think abt happily ever after. (ok. even tho i thot happily ever after is bullshit, maybe we cld just enjoy it for that moment?)

J1, J2, uni freshmen year. That’s 3 years of friendship and counting, with the 4th year on its way. I must say I HAVE BEEN THROUGH A WHOLE LOT OF BULLSHIT THIS THREE YEARS! But it’s all positive bullshit (: Without Miss ONG YEE TENG to spice up my very mundane life, I would probably have died reading some dusty old chemistry book even before the promos are over.

And thanks for asking me to get together with weisheng, girl! Both sarcastically and sincerely, haha. Because without which, we wouldn’t have hours of bitching fun under the sun. There would be one less bitching outlet, and one less thing to bitch about.

There isn’t one thing we cannot bitch about together, seriously. And every outing is by default a bitching session. So can you just imagine the amount of fun we have together? dinner was at 'changing appetite' at marina sq.
we would all agree that it was a disappointment.
but our lively convo made up for it.
army boys using army lingo most of the time..
pei and i was like... HUH? wth are they talking abt!
slowly, army stories get really interesting and we just spend 2 hours talking all those and how long we've known each other and how much we've grown.
to our dismay, we've to admit we're old already.
and mond made a damn funny remark, 'our next gathering will be one of our baby's one mth celebration!' HAHAHA
