End of 2006

wind in korea is stronger.

31st dec 2006.
Another year just like that.
I would say this year is extremely fast as compared to past years.
One busy year for me.
JC curriculum is a drag.
Never-ending tutorials, assignments, tests, squash trainings, competitions, alot alot more.
to top it all, i have the A level.
However at this time now, i'm relax.
whatever busy and tiring stuffs are all over.
oh! i went overseas too. cruise, genting and Korea!
now, i'm waiting for the new year to start and get busy all over again.
i'll be teaching in evss once sch term starts.
taking 10 classes is a feat for someone who is new in the teaching industry.
i never thought relief teaching is that tedious, until the department meeting that day which lasted for abt 3 hrs.
then, i found out that teaching seems easy on the surface but the preparation that needed to be done is more taxing than doing tutorials and handing in assignments.
whatever the situation, i will try my best.
since at the very beginning i was the one who wanted this job.
just like how i landed myself in mjc.
same thing happens.
hahaha.
im kinda glad in a way that i know most of the teachers there alr.
so i guess working in a familiar environment has its benefits.
on the contrary, it might not be a good thing.
since most of the teachers have taught me, my calibre becomes an issue.
they know what i'm capable of and what im not.
so when i dont perform to standard, it really doesnt reflect good on me.
this is the part where stress and pressure comes in.
but im well-trained to handle stress and pressure..i was from meridian, never forget that.

whats awaiting 2007?
my results.
the A level results that determines and shape my future.
my future relies on that piece of paper.
argghhh. that sucks seriously.
cos i know im screwing it up.
so i guess i can only pray and hope for the better.
oh! my driving license that comes before the A level results and everything else.
i dun wanna fail!
please please.
no one wants to fail.
but things are just not within control.
by knocking down 2 poles, i'll fail the test effortlessly.
so..failing smth is nothing difficult at all.
passing is the concern, esp when blind spot comes in the way.
irritating, drivers dun check blind spot when they get their licenses!

it has been a long long time since i do geog.

i have been waking up at 5am spore time every day in korea.
that was darn early.
earlier than i usually wake up for meridian.
arghhh.. meridian, i miss sch..=oh yah, this korea trip was a lil more significant than past trips cos this is my first long journey trip, not including genting, after i totally abandon education!

Im currently in korea now.
weather here is shiok!
cold and cold and cold.
im wearing like 4 layers of clothes since the day of arrival which was dunno when cos i dun rmb what day issit now..
time lag.

anyways, food here is not as bad as in japan.
thou every meal without fail i'll see kimchi.
but heh. seaweed with rice is the nicest so far!
oh ya, i ate ice cream everyday!
the ice cream i ate is warmer than the weather lah.
and korea's ice cream taste so much nicer than ice cream in spore..
ben&jerry is just crap lah..oops.
even my last choice, vanilla, taste great! =))
hmmmm..i climbed the dunno what mountain today.
not exactly a mountain, but somewhat a dead volcano in Jeju.
Jeju is an island made up of harden molten lava.
their cultre here is kinda unique, different from the rest of the korea.
went to the teddy bear museum too.
kaus.. they have this LV teddy bear which cost like 300million korea's currency.
and my bro bought the princess hours' bear for his fren.
i din get any bears for u guys.
cos i dun tink u guys wan any bear since sab alr got us bears when she went korea last year.
so i'll see what i can get tmr when i fly back to seoul tmr morning.
will be heading to their disneyland!!
according to the tourguide, weather there will be ard 1 degree in the day and in nite, it'll be maybe minus? she told us to wear more.
hahaha!

apart from the gifts exchange which somewhat enhance the atmosphere.
some really cranky and brainless gifts.

in the midst of writing xmas cards, i just felt like blogging and so here i am.
as usual, im tired again.
i slept for like 13 hrs today!
instead of being energised, i felt lethargic.
probably bcos i exceeded the 8hrs of sleep.
if wasnt for jan who woke me up, i cld be sleeping for more hrs.
anyways, went raffles city with jan and suhan.
bought levis wallets at a 25 percent discount due to suhan's bdae.
saved close to 18bucks.
helped sab got her pink one too!
jan and suhan got those wallets too!
cheap cheap. =))

parents fetched me after that and went grandma's place for dinner.
aunt and ah ma gave us ang baos!
cos we're going korea!

din pack alot on my own cos my mum is doing it for me.
i merely took out thoe clothes that im bringing for her to pack.
what a nice mum to have.

anyways, since young my mum is the one doing the job.
and she seems to be enjoying it alot.
she packs for me, my bro, my dad and herself.
she's still packing now at 11 pm.. for 3 hrs alr!

did a rough calculation ytd and it sum up to abt 2k.
what the heck!
sometimes sch can be better than hols.

more than 8 hrs are spent in sch, no time for anything.
no shopping, no eating all day, no movies = save alot of money.
no time for driving = really saving a lot of money.
canteen food thou not nice, but at least cheaper than restaurants.
save a lot on transportations. (my dad drop me in sch every morning and collect me in the evening)
can save abt 50 bucks per week.

hols...
more than 8 hrs are spent shopping, eating, movies, etc.
shopping, eating, movies, etc = alot of money.
eating in restaurants cost alot more than canteen food.
movies are pure waste of money unless guys are treating. =P
can afford the time to do driving = damn a lot of money!
transportations are incredibly expensive.
be it bus, mrt, cab and even planes!
always having a huge deficit!
savings forever depleting!

that's why i love sch.
ok, i love hols more for one reason and that is, i can sleep all i want!
but i seriously spent too much, too fast!
and xmas coming.

Hello! Testing testing! Haha! Currently at chalet with sox. The guys are mahjong-ing, the girls are slacking. Except for Yx who's doing Nth and me trying to blog for the fun of it using my precious. =)

though at some point of time i really have the feeling that i'll fail.
but thanks to e-trials. no one fail with the help of e-trials.
and ta-da! i cleared the test in ten mins.
slower than my BTT, but good enuf cos they're really difficult mans!
anyways, the point is, i'm left with my practical test to clear to drive officially!

get some korea stuffs and i still have my snow cap to go!
that i finally got my esprit jacket after sooo longg and its the last piece.
went all the way to great world to collect it cos there's only stock there.
second time to great world. both for the same reason. to collect my reservation.
anyways, wanted to catch a movie but im currently not interested in any of the shows screening except for casino royale which i alr watched.
so yupps, settled in k box.
damn. after not singing for so long and able to last for a 5hr session was actualli fulfilling.
dinner at secret recipe. food was not bad, price was reasonable.
anyways, shant elaborate on. btw, all expenses are fully on him.

while stacking my notes and files, i realised A level ended too quickly.
flipping thru those notes, i dun find them familiar at all.
all the practise papers, i dun rmb doing them too.
but heh, i see my writings inside.
lastly, i cldnt rmb those mugging days!

went shopping with ivy..
for the first time, i spent 200 plus without my mum ard.
what a huge feat for myself.
but heartache followed after.
went towning and my aunt called me to inform that marina has midnite sales.
so headed for marina at 9 plus..
ended shopping on the dot at 12am!
legs are damn tired now.
and i have been towning alot mans.
friday went town with daniel after my driving, sat went town with ivy, sunday will be going with mummy and aunts..
happy shopping for me!
i shld jus spent till my bank left zero so that i have no more to spend.

realise i missed out all the details on prom.
after reading so many blogs, the overall comment for prom, noche arc en ciel, was not exactly good..
personally, apart for a few turn-offs, prom was not badd..

the theme, colours.
apparently, NO ONE followed the theme!
whoever thought of this theme is utterly crazy.

the food, the only thing i rmb eating was shark fins.
cant rmb other dishes alr.
oh ya, and the fish!
hmmm..95 bucks that those is abit steep.
luckily we only paid 65 bucks.
so, not in the position to complain so much yeah.

the program, lousy!
the mcee was terrible.
he din manage to capture attentions and he din heat up the atmosphere.
why did mjc get such a lousy guy as mcee.
singers were ok cos they're all familiar faces.
prom kings and queens were somewhat not spontaneous enuf except for maybe dharma who went on his knees.

the moving-abt-taking-photos, was simply great!
the climax of the night!
at the end of the session, there's onli flash lights images in my eyes.
and walking ard in heels are just tiring!
my feet are aching like as if i ran the 42.195km marathon!
we left pan pac at abt 12am?

it's sunday again.
time flies even when you're on a long hols.
esp so for this week..
kinda busy and im seriously gonna get sick of marina.
went there again today with my family for brunch.
i was quite blur when i woke up cos i slept less than 5 hrs due to mahjong-ing at kw's place after vivo-ing.
i won seven bucks?
second round was really filled with stupid entertainment by sl and yc.
two jokers! =)
suppose to go IT fair with yc.
but last min sab and me cldnt make it..cos im at marina and i'll be down for dinner at nite. it's kinda a every sunday thing?
eat and eat and eat and shop and shop and shop and shop!
sunday is a family day lah.. hahaha

Bastards.
took a bus on sat to meet zx, yc and kw for lunch.
and on the bus, there was a grp of teenage boys and a girl.
they occupied the whole back part of the bus.
i have actualli nth against them until....the grp of rowdy ppl started blasting there phones and started singing.
they sang so badly that even pigs snore better than them.
so i stuffed my ipod in my ears to block out noises, however that, i still cld hear them talking so loudly as if they own the whole bus.
those bunch of ppl are probably still sec sch kids cos they dun look any older than me.
and definitely frm some pathetic neighbourhood schs.
the whole journey from pasir ris to tamp was so annoying that i felt like alighting.
imagine their parents, not me, were the ones seeing them in such rowdiness, how heart-broken wld they feel?
all the education and upbringing from at least a good 15 yrs din get through them.
i just cldnt help but constantly turn my head back to signal my displease.
apparently, i dun tink they even saw.
well... poor upbringing thats all i wld say.
i have sufficient evidence to conclude that cos i heard their crude conversation with the only girl there and i dun tink i wld wanna mention the content in my blog.
cos it's just inappropriate.
they brought shame upon themselves and also refect badly on their upbringing.

talking about their parents, i bet they din know that their kids are putting up such behaviors in the public.
a child is his/her parents' ever largest investment.
im now assuming on an average to a typical family, a child needs abt 10k per year?
and i believe most of us lives off our parents till the age of 21 or even more?
again, im assuming base on inadequate information.
for the 21 yrs that our parents feed, clothe, shelter and educate us, all these easily come up to abt 150k-200k?
realise i din mention the twice a yr holidays trip overseas, the ever-demandig shopping expenses and all the miscellaneous stuffs.
all that we want for, they're all paid by our parents.
the only return that parents ever want for their children is.. a righteous character, upright moral, and lastly, to be educated so that our future doesnt look bleak.
that's all they yearn from their children. simple.
those kids i saw on the bus din manage to do that.
not only those kids, i have frens ard me not planning and working hard enuf for their future.
while teenage years are short and carefree, all we do is study and play.
but i see frens not doing the former and their future doesnt look optimistic to me at all. as a fren, this is the last thing u wanna see isnt it?
they forgo their own opportunity to be educated.
they dun treasure. all they believe is, i can make it big even if i dun sch.
wat wrong thinking and they jus gamble their future away.
living in such a competitive environment, knowledge and minimum qualification is something u cannot do without.
not everyone is bill gates, who has all the luck in the world.
if anyone here can create microsoft no. 2, i'll eat back my words.
in other words, it takes a tougher and longer route to succeed without qualification.
and if u're just not lucky, u might never ever gonna succeed even at ur death bed.
but im not saying that those with qualifications definitely wld make it big.
im jus saying that, they have a higher chance of achieving success.
i know many frens ard me who do not enjoy studying, but, they know they must do it.
they know how to be realistic and definitely care abt their future.
for that, i admire their attitude towards things that they dislike doing but have been doing for many many yrs even till now.

earlier on, i mentioned that to raise a child, a bare minimum of 150k in 21 yrs.
think abt it, living standards are constantly rising and ppl are becoming more competitive and richer?
do you think by earning small money wld ever allow you to own a child? not mentioning children.
it's a lot of money.
a child is expensive.
then again, im saying on an avg cos some may not shelter their child till 21..
some may not go for hols and perhaps only once a yr shopping for the chinese new year.
i believe doing that, small money may do just fine. i emphasise again, may.

lastly, i drove for the first time in my life!
although i was just moving round and round the circuit for at least a good 6-7 rounds?
learning to turn at the bend.
well... i felt that it was quite okae.
cos my instructor is a friendly man.
and a big time joker as well.
so.. first lesson, not too bad apart from the fact that its a boring at the beginning cos he needa teach me abt the car and everything.
oh ya, i also have the habit of putting down my hands when the car come to a temporary stop and he has to constantly remind me of this bad habit.
he told me tester dun like.
kaus, i must hold the steering wheel all the time!

had my fried osyter.
this time, we met a bit of problem trying to split the bill among ourselves.
but heh.. small issue.
also, we planned for xmas alr.
